2011 Committee Visits High Risk Breast Health Clinic
The 2011 Pink Ring Committee was fortunate to visit the High Risk Breast Cancer Clinic at the Foothills Hospital, October 20, 2010. We were met by Denise from the
Calgary Health Trust, along with Connie, from the Breast Health Clinic and Kim from the High Risk Breast Cancer Clinic.
It was great to personally tour the High Risk Breast Cancer Clinic and learn more about the services they provide. The clinic offers individuals at high risk for developing breast cancer with risk assessment, evidence-based screening, risk reduction planning, and psychosocial support.
registration for 2011 Pink Ring now open

- have been told (by a medical genetics doctor) that they are at high risk for breast or ovarian cancer.
HRBCC is for women who:
- had radiation therapy to the chest area before age 30.
- have lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS), atypical hyperplasia, or other breast cancer risk factors and want to know about hormone therapy (e.g., tamoxifen).

If it wasn’t for your hard work, the Calgary Health Region would not have over $100,000 in three years. When you think about that, it’s inspiring. So I know you’re exhausted but I just have to say, GOOD JOB & CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! It was a spectacular, well-run event with terrific extras that made it special for everyone.

Thanks so much for all the great pictures to add to our memories. Thanks as well to you and the rest of the committee for all your hard work. I really appreciate it. I think this is the only place a player my age and my caliber can actually play and feel like I am making a difference. The Pink Ring is something I look forward to all year, playing with players of all skill levels just for the love of the game and to help fight breast cancer. When I put on my Pink Ring jersey I feel what it must feel like to be in the Olympics. I am proud to know all of you & I thank you for the opportunity to play the game I love & do my little part to help. The smiles on all the faces in the pictures tell it all. A great day & a great cause!!!
Thanks and see you next year
