Pink Ring 2006 | Pink Ring 2007 | Pink Ring 2009

April 1- 2, 2006 the Women’s Ringette Association of Calgary will host Calgary’s first ever 24 hour Ringette game. Over 80 women will compete round the clock in a friendly game of Ringette to raise funds and awareness.
Over $40,000 was raised at the 1st Annual Pink Ring in 2006 and funds raised contributed to the purchase a Stereotactic Biopsy Table for the Women’s Health Centre in Calgary.

Over 60 women participated in the 2nd Annual Pink Ring and raised over $23,000 to purchase a Gamma Probe for the Rockyview Hospital.
The Gamma Probe is a tool that is used by Nuclear Medicine to map cancerous regions, and is most often used prior to surgery in order to determine if breast cancer has metastasized into the lymph system.

What an incredible weekend. It was so much fun. How awesome that 80 Ringette players of all skill levels can come together, play Ringette and raise nearly $50,000.
The funds raised supported the Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator Program. It works to strengthen the relationships between breast cancer patients and their surgeons, health care professionals, family doctors, cancer centres and community support services.
With the assistance of the Calgary Health Trust we were pleased to provide our participants with the ablity to have their friends and family donate online. This was a great addition to our event.
What a fun night social night we had! Players dropped off their pledges, pick up their player packages and enjoyed the music of One Foot band.
Thanks to One Foot band for donating their time to this great cause.
If it wasn’t for your hard work, the Calgary Health Region would not have over $100,000 in three years. When you think about that, it’s inspiring. So I know you’re exhausted but I just have to say, GOOD JOB & CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! It was a spectacular, well-run event with terrific extras that made it special for everyone.

Thanks so much for all the great pictures to add to our memories. Thanks as well to you and the rest of the committee for all your hard work. I really appreciate it. I think this is the only place a player my age and my caliber can actually play and feel like I am making a difference. The Pink Ring is something I look forward to all year, playing with players of all skill levels just for the love of the game and to help fight breast cancer. When I put on my Pink Ring jersey I feel what it must feel like to be in the Olympics. I am proud to know all of you & I thank you for the opportunity to play the game I love & do my little part to help. The smiles on all the faces in the pictures tell it all. A great day & a great cause!!!
Thanks and see you next year
